Work Experience: 16/09/24

here is some communication i made with someone asking for any work experience in the college.

here is some of the communication that I made when I finished my poster for the enrichment team at college for black history month with the feedback I got from the client. 

26/09/24:

What I'm intending to do for work experience is to make a poster to promote black history month for the enrichment team in the college as my main task which will be done by next week on Monday. I'm also considering creating a website to promote my Dad's glazing company and to add on another graphic design job that I can do. for both of these projects I want to make them stand out and also be helpful in developing my skills in marketing and promotion for clients and brands. I hope to learn how to effectively get people to be invested in what create for my chosen projects that I'm doing for my clients along with improving my graphic design skills as well by giving unique designs. I want to make sure that what I make is informative and interesting so that it doesn't seem boring or bland which is why for the black history month poster I want it to get the message around easily whilst respecting and keeping its identity the same. I will make the poster engaging and the website captivating and plain and simple so that it can be easy to read any of the information along with making the design look cool.

Evaluation: 07/11/24

If I were to improve this poster I would make the text stand out more with a certain font and I would have less text to give a better message and I would try to create symbol to represent black history month with the colours you always see with posters and advertisements about the topic. 

In my opinion I did a good job creating a poster for the college enrichment team could take inspiration from and also I'm glad I was able to make something for a event such as black history month however I do think I could've been better. 

Work Experience Website : 07/11/24

To continue my work experience project I'm going to create a website to promote a local glazing company.  I'm making this one solely on showcasing the company and to promote and raise awareness of it. for the website although the client I have contacted already has a website I'm making this one to revitalise the business and they are perfectly fine with the helpful promotion. 

Client interview 

For my client interview I'm going to ask my client specific questions that I want his answer on while I have answered some of the other questions that are catered more toward who's creating the project so I will have two different documents with some questions for me with my answers and then another with the answers from my client.

Brainstorming:

I'm thinking of making a new logo to go along with the website to help promote the company I'm doing work experience for and I think it would help to try and revamp the company by having the website showcase what its good at whilst having pictures to showcase to those who may not know about the company. 

Products: company Logo, Poster for promotion 

 Research: 

one of the questions I asked my client was what similar projects he like and he said that the company Pilkington glass had an interesting logo so im going to do some research on their website and company. 

my client explained that this company has a very nice website and that the style of it is what he wants from the website im creating for the company. 

here is what the home page for Pilkington glass looks like.  as you can see there is multiple sections that focus on specific types of glass for different places and purposes. the layout is simplistic and the colours are good and don't make the website unintelligible. 

the website features separate pages that detail the different uses and purposes of glass that the company provides with interactive 3d models of buildings along with types of glass that can be selected.

Website Logo 1st attempt 

 This is a company logo I have made for my client as I have used the colour scheme that he requested to use and also the shield logo of the company's name.  the feedback I have been given is that the colours and legibility don't work so Im going to try and experiment creating another one. 

Illustrator Experimentation: 25/11/24

Today I've been experimenting with illustrator to create a new company logo for my clients website. 

Im going to make a few more and see which one works the best as im experimenting with illustrator AI to try and see which one could be the best so I can create an interesting template for a new logo for the company.

My opinion on my work so far: 25/11/24

So far my work throughout this project has been pretty good im proud with what I've done for my client and the website is proceeding ok. the only problem is the company logo as the legibility and colour is hard to read and im hoping I can complete the website in time as I have done the bulk of the website at the moment and all I need to do as add pictures and information about it and then I will collect feedback from my client and from peers on their opinions on what I have made. I also need to analyses similar products to what Im making. 

Client Feedback: 04/12/24

I asked my client recently on his opinions on what I've made so far for the company on my website. 

he explained to me that the logo is not synonymous with the image the company portrays and that the detail on the descriptions of the services that are offered by the company should be more detailed and descriptive. 

the colour scheme is good and fits what was said about the colour scheme in the interview. 

there also needs to be an element of green to show that the company has a carbon footprint. 

I also was told I should mention how every job and project done by the company are carried out through Manuel labour. 

Final company logo: 16/12/24

here is the new and final logo for my clients company as I wanted to create something that reflected what the company is about along with looking appealing to new people. I made this using illustrator AI and I'm glad with how It came out.

The research I did for my work experience was looking at another glazing company website that my client mentioned had an interesting style that he wanted to replicate called Pilkington glass and I going to put out a survey for my website this week to get feedback from peers as extra research. 

I've learnt that the audience for my clients company are those who require something that can give information and can provide the right services for those who need it as the products I've made for my client will help to revamp the company along with my goal of having the website and logo be appealing to a younger audience of people around my age. 

my work needs to meet the needs of the audience since my clients company is always in demand and work is always happening so I believe a revamp of the logo and look for the website will help promote it and have it stand out more. 

I have changed some of the websites look and I have tried making a few different logos to try and appeal to newer people and to also let everyone know it's a glazing company. 

I'm most proud of how the website has come out along with the creation of my new logos for the company as using AI in illustrator to demonstrate the type of logo I wanted to create. 

I have gained from this experience the knowledge of changing ideas to best suit what would work for my client on short notice. 

06/01/24: Im happy with how my website came out and im glad I was able to make something that can be used as a way to promote a company. im happy with the colour scheme and im glad I was able to get the right feedback and implemented what my client wanted from the project.

im happy with how it came out and the only thing I would change is if I had more time I would've added more stuff to it. 

Critical Evaluation: 15/01/24

since completing my work experience website I can safely say that there are areas that need to be improved upon and I'm going to look back on my website and I will detail what needed to be improved and what I would've liked to improve. 

something that I should've done with my website is have proper contact details and to have them laid out more neatly. 

as you can see the email and telephone and address are all poorly placed and the text is way to small for anyone to properly see it should they want to contact the company I made this for. I'm also taking into consideration that the feedback ive received after creating this is to do with the presentation of everything I made for the website and that there was no planning and I tried my best with what I thought would work.

many of the ideas I thought of for the website came from me thinking of what would be best and ive looked back through my blog and I can see why It would've been best to plan out my work experience project. In honesty I believe if I had more time I would've been able to improve but im happy with what I have made and even though some parts of my website are left unfinished and at times it can look very rushed im happy I was able to get the client feedback when I was making it and im glad I was able to make logos in adobe illustrator and I want to make sure in the future that I put my best effort into my future projects and that I will try my best and put 100% into what comes next as I think I should've spent some more time on my website as parts of it don't look the best with hindsight.
